- Agent anti-angiogénique, anticancéreux
- Potentialités dans le cancer du pancréas [1], favoriserait l'apoptose [2], inhibe la progression du cancer du sein [3], [4], sur des cellules avec ou sans récepteurs aux œstrogènes [5]
- Inhibe la croissance de tumeurs cérébrales [6], inducteur d'apoptose dans le glioblastome multiforme [7]
- L'alcool périllique contribue à restaurer la viabilité cellulaire et le potentiel de membrane des mitochondries dans un modèle de maladie de Parkinson [8]
- Immunostimulant par voie nasale [9]
